June 24, 2003 – Allen Larsen of Cle Elum, Washington, crossed the Race Across America finish line this morning on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City, to become the first-place solo winner in the annual ultra-marathon cycling event. Larsen rode from San Diego, California, to Atlantic City in 8 days, 23 hours and 36 minutes.
Several cycling teams have arrived in Atlantic City since Sunday night, and more teams and solo riders will finish throughout the week.
