October 9, 2009 (Maple Ridge BC) – Get your cross bikes, costumes and your scariest race face ready for the 3rd annual Pumpkin Cross cyclocross race coming to Maple Ridge Oct 25th, 2009. This Halloween themed race is sure to be a spooky good time, with a costume contest, M/C, music, prizes, and of course a free kid‚s race. Registration is now open online at Karelo.

Save time and money and reregister online for $25, or wait until race day and register on site for $30. U17 can also register online and pay only $10. The kid‚s race is free, and registration will be on site. Registration for all categories will close 15 minutes prior to each race.

The race will be held on a new and improved course at the Maple Ridge Equi-Sport Centre. The new venue will provide a classic style cross course, with some spooky technical twists. The track promises a monster sand pit, plenty of slimy off camber grass, some screaming fast gravel, wicked barriers, and the dreaded Tiger Pit. Of course, there will be a good dose of pain dished out for those willing to vie for the top podium spot. Cash bonus prizes will again be offered for anyone who can win their race in costume.

Pumpkin Cross has been known to bring out many famous celebrities in the past, and this year promises to be no different. Some famous faces that have graced the grass of our cross courses include Elvis Presley, Britney Spears, Austin Powers, and on one especially terrifying occasion, the Devil himself.
