December 23, 2005 – The Ontario Cycling Association (OCA) is the provincial sport organization governing the sport of Cycling. Members are competitive and recreational cyclists between the ages of 5 and 80. The OCA is seeking a candidate to work with current staff and volunteers to provide leadership for the growth of SPROCKIDS in Ontario. We are also looking for an enthusiastic, mature and hard-working person to co-ordinate office activities as well as provide support to the Executive Director, the membership, and the Board of Directors.
Recently the OCA has listed two different part time job postings; One for the Sprockids Growth and Development person and the other for an Administrative assistant. We are considering combining the two positions into a full time role for the right person with the appropriate skills. Key Accountabilities:
SPROCKIDS Growth and Development Officer
Oversee and manage all daily operations of the SPROCKIDS programs in Ontario. Including the collection of data, membership and program registration, and all client services such as answering the phone, faxing and photocopying services Prepare a SPROCKIDS start up manual Increase the number of SPROCKIDS programs in Ontario through solicitation with communities, retailers, clubs and others Increase the number of SPROCKIDS programs and participants through marketing efforts Assist in program coordination and execution where necessary Assist in tracking, processing, and fulfilling information inquiries Other Responsibilities
Soliciting sponsors specifically for SPROCKIDS in Ontario Develop relationships with the retail sector servicing the SPROCKIDS community Publish the SPROCKIDS youth newsletter (including writing, photographs and finding content) Cross promote SPROCKIDS Contribute to all general OCA communication materials, including the newsletters, handbooks, the Annual General Meeting Report and the OCA’s website. Assist with planning special events and meetings Grant writing Attending events on the OCA’s behalf As a small association, we expect a team player who will help wherever necessary Key Competencies:

Proficient computer skills; strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Proven administration experience and skills. At least 3 years work experience, preferably in a not for profit or sports environment Desire to take the SPROCKIDS on-line training course Office Administrator aspect of the role.
Essential Qualities

– Basic accounting / banking knowledge is an asset;
– Familiarity with membership newsletters;
– Experience with Charity Bingo reporting;
