Positively False

July 16, 2007 — Not pedaling his bike as much these days means more time for Floyd Landis to pedal the book he co-authored with Loren Mooney, entitled Positively False; the Real Story of How I Won the Tour de France.

The book, released in June just prior to the Tour, retails officially for $29.99 CDN on Amazon.ca although discounts are available. The title of the book is indicative of content — Landis states and supports his case that he did not dope during the 2006 Tour de France. No customer reviews are posted on Amazon.ca, but the US version, Amazon.com gives the book four-and-a-half stars out of five based on 10 reviews.

Neither the publisher nor the number of pages are indicated on the Amazon websites. The book is apparently Landis’ first while Mooney has authored another book.

Amazon also suggests customers might want to buy From Lance to Landis: Inside the American Doping Controversy at the Tour de France by David Walsh, which retails officially for $61.99. Walsh, an Irishman, has co-authored two other books – both in French – about doping at the Tour de France: L.A. Confidentiel : Les secrets de Lance Armstrong and L.A. Officiel.

Walsh, who co-authored the French books with Pierre Ballester, and Pierre Monegier, has a reputation for being very critical of Armstrong, strongly suggesting that the seven-time TdF winner doped.
