Podium Performance Presentation With Guy Thibault

March 1, 2005 – The National Cycling Centre, in partnership with the National Sport Centre – Atlantic, is proud to offer you a Podium Performance Presentation with Guy Thibault, scientific consultant for the CCA. This presentation will take place n Moncton (French) on March 11 (U de M CEPS) at 6:00 pm.

Doctor in exercise physiology and consultant with the government of Quebec, Guy Thibault is dedicated to the interpretation of scientific knowledge for coaches, particularly those involved in individual sports such as cycling, running, triathlon, swimming, speed skating and cross-country skiing. He works closely with the CAC and the NCI in Montreal and he drives seminar for high performance coaches, in Canada and in foreign countries. His three most important research subjects are interval training programming, tapering and specific preparation of competitions to be held in a hostile environment (altitude, heat, cold, pollution, jet lag). Along with colleagues from the Montreal NCI and INSEP in Paris, he created the web site www.savoir-sport.org to disseminate scientific knowledge with applications in high performance sport. He has published a few books and hundreds of papers in exercise physiology. The subjects of this presentation will be Environmental Factors (Jet lag, altitude, heat): how to reduce the negative effect and Tapering for a peak performance : what scientific research teaches us.
