March 15, 2006 – Switzerland’s Team Phonak has been struck by another doping scandal, this time with rider Sascha Urweider. The 25-year-old Swiss has been temporarily suspended by the team after failing a drug test on February 14, 2006.

Phonak manager John Lelangue stated that all parties concerned are waiting for the results of the B sample before making any final decisions – Urwider’s A sample was found to have excessive levels of testosterone. Urweider finished second at the 2004 Swiss championships.
