June 01, 2014 (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) – Canada’s Lex Albrecht (Twenty16) landed second on the podium at the Philadelphia Cycling Classic, 98.4km/61.5 miles on Sunday behind winner velyn Stevens (USA) Specialized-lululemon with Lauren Hall (USA) Optum p/b Kelly Benefit Strategies in 3rd.
“After my result last year, I decided to really target this race this year,” said Albrecht in a Sportcom interview. “I’m very happy because this is one of my favourite races. There are many people who encouraged us on the side of the road. It’s really fun for us and it’s a race that has a lot of history.”
“I like the climbs, especially relatively short and steep. We had good team work and some teammates taken some falls behind but they worked very hard to come back and were able to help me.”
” The Specialized- lululemon girls did a great lead out that allowed Evelyn to win. I was a little sad at the end because I really going for the win and knew it was not perfect at the bottom of the last climb.”
