PEI Youth Cycling TDF Fund-Raiser

June 29, 2007 (Summerside, PEI) – Here is a little info on a new fund-raiser: our Prince Edward Island (Canada) youth cycling Tour de France fund-raiser is an opportunity to have fun with the TDF and help support youth cycling in P.E.I. Anyone can participate in this fund-raiser. From a $5.00 to $20 level of supporter, you can participate.

50% of the proceeds are to given to the Rigid Riders youth cycling club out of Brookvale; 50% is given to the Sprockids youth cycling program out of Summerside.

Rules

– Yellow Jersey: pick five cyclists and the times of their top three cyclists will be counted.

– Green Jersey (sprinting): pick one cyclist; if your cyclist wins at the end, you get 10 minutes subtracted from your overall time

– Polka Dot Jersey (climbing): pick one cyclist; if your cyclist wins at the end, you get 10 minutes subtracted from your overall time

– White Jersey (young rider): pick one cyclist; if your cyclist wins at the end, you get 10 minutes subtracted from your overall time

– Winner of Prologue / Stages: pick one cyclist; if your cyclist is in thge top 5, you get the following time rediced from your overall time: 1st-10 minutes ; 2nd-7 minutes ; 3rd-5 minutes ; 4th-3 minutes ; 5th-1 minute.

Placings will be updated daily. Winner will have a lot of pride for an entire year.

Prediction deadline is Friday July 6th as TDF starts July 7th.
