October 30, 2003 – Want to know how you measure up against other Canucks across the country? Ever wonder who the highest-ranking domestic rider is for road, track, mountain bike or BMX? In 2004, Pedal will be launching an exciting new National Ranking system for all cycling disciplines in Canada, with an emphasis on the national calendar races, provincial championships and other select races. Riders will receive points for results in each event based on weighted system that allots points according to the level of the event – similar to the the way the UCI ranks its races with the highest points awarded for the “Classics” of Canadian racing, such as the National Championships, or the GP de Beauce, World MTB Cups etc. Points will be updated regularly and appear at pedalmag.com and in Pedal. Stay tuned for more details.
