December 30, 2014 (Toronto, ON) – Voting has been brisk and well over last year’s totals…and with just over 24hr to go there are still some very tight battles in Pedal Magazine’s 2014 Cycling Awards honouring Canada’s top riders from this past season.

Don’t miss your chance to make your voice heard while supporting Canada’s BEST riders in ALL categories before we ring in a new year. There are so many deserving athletes along with bike shops, cafes, events and cycling performances – and we’ve extended the deadline to 10pm on Dec. 31.

The legendary Catharine Pendrel is still the front runner for the title of Best Overall Cyclist – plus two other categories – but is being challenged by Canada’s hardman of cycling Svein Tuft who also has the pole position for the Best Overall Senior/U23 Male Cyclist award.

The trackie’s still love the Women’s Team Pursuit but there are plenty of other close battles… Tory Nyhaug is leading the BMX category but Amelia Walsh is making a charge; Ryder Hesjedal is challenging Tuft for best roadie (Male or Female); Mike Garrigan is holding on the CX lead but guess who’s challenging him now…? Yep Kika Pendrel.

The Junior Women’s award is now a raging 3-way battle with Sarah Mason still leading but now Emeliah Harvie has charged into 2nd place with Soren Meeuwisse is just behind in 3rd. In the Junior Men’s race Bayley Simpson has surged ahead of all chasers for now; and Shelley Gautier has taken over the lead in the tight battle for the Best Paracycling Cyclist (Male or Female) award but Daniel Chalifour/Alexandre Cloutier is not out of it yet.
