December 26, 2009 (Toronto, ON) – It’s time once again for Pedal’s Annual Cycling Awards honouring Canada’s top riders in many different categories and this year we’re pleased to announce several new features such as a Cyclocross category for ‘crossers across Canada, and an option to vote for Pedal’s annual awards in French for francophone cycling fans.
We’re also inviting readers to submit their best Canadian cycling moment/performance – there are too many to select just one – such as Lori-Ann Muenzer’s Olympic gold medal on the track in the women’s pursuit in Athens in 2004, or Ryder Hesjedal (Garmin) winning Stage 12 at the 2009 Vuelta d’Espana – both Canadian firsts.
With the holidays underway there’s time to reflect on the past season and the decade – then make your selections of Canada’s top riders in different categories and special cycling moments. Winners will be selected on the basis of votes tallied from across the country at pedalmag.com and we’ll also publish the “decade’s best”. All entrants are eligible to win one of three prizes:
– 1st prize a 1-yr subscription to Pedal
– 2nd prize a Pedal News Boy Hat
– 3rd prize a Pedal T-Shirt
You can complete as many or as few categories as you like, but you are limited to only ONE entry per person. Voting ends at 6pm (EST) on Thursday, December 31, 2009 and the winners will be announced on Friday, January 1, 2010.
Click here or the Awards icon at the top right to vote and good luck to all riders.
Happy Holidays.
