Pedal’s 2009 Canadian Cycling Awards – VOTE by Dec. 31

by pedalmag.com

December 29, 2009 (Toronto, ON) – Pedal’s Annual Cycling Awards honour Canada’s top riders in many different categories and disciplines, and for 2009 we’re pleased to announce some exciting new additions, including a Cyclocross category for ‘crossers across the nation, and an option to vote for Pedal’s annual awards in French for francophone cycling fans.

Readers can also nominate what they think was the most significant Canadian cycling moment/performance of the decade, such as Lori-Ann Muenzer’s 2004 Olympic gold medal on the track in the women’s pursuit in Athens, or Ryder Hesjedal’s (Garmin-Transitions) Stage 12 win at the 2009 Vuelta d’Espana – both Canadian firsts.

The holidays are a time to reflect on the past season and the decade. We are pleased to invite you to make your selections of Canada’s top riders and special cycling moments of the past 10 years that particularly inspired you. Winners will be selected on the basis of votes tallied from across the country at pedalmag.com and we’ll also publish the “decade’s best”. All entrants are eligible to win one of three prizes:

– 1st prize a 1-yr subscription to Pedal
– 2nd prize a Pedal News Boy Hat
– 3rd prize a Pedal T-Shirt

You can complete as many or as few categories as you like, but you are limited to only ONE entry per person. Voting ends at 6pm (EST) on Thursday, December 31, 2009 and the winners will be announced on Friday, January 1, 2010.

Happy Holidays.
