PeakXL Partners With OCA

February 4, 2005 – The upcoming 2005 Ontario Cycling season is looking bright with the newly formed partnership with Mississauga based PeakXL.

While the name PeakXL may appear new to many OCA members, their sister company, Peak Centre for Human Performance has been helping cyclists in Canada for many years, including training and testing services for the Canadian Cycling Association.

PeakXL is a breakaway group from the Peak Centre and is dedicated to a very simple focus, providing “Stuff to Make Athletes Better” such as endurance nutrition, supplements, and training aids. Their leadership is formed from a knowledgeable group of exercise physiologists, athletes and business people.

Elite athletes often want the best tools to get the most out of training and PeakXL offers a number of interesting tools such as the innovative AltiPower altitude training device and SRM cranks, along with consumer products such as Hammer Gel, Cytomax and other food supplements.

“We are distributing and retailing a number of innovative products for athletes that have been hard to find, offer significant improvements over common approaches, or bring value to the athlete that they may not be accustomed to with other similar products, and we hope to help our customers in cycling and other sports as well, understand that significant improvements can be made using these tools”, said Don Magie, PeakXL’s CEO.

Steve Merker, the Executive Director of the OCA said, “We are pleased to add this new name to our sponsor list this year, and we look forward to working with PeakXL to strengthen cycling in Ontario. We hope that you support PeakXL and all of our other sponsors who help to make our
activities possible.”
