We all know that as runners, cyclists or triathletes we should be incorporating strength training into our training routines, but they always seem to be the first sessions to be squeezed out when time gets tight. Peak power is a concept seldom discussed among endurance athletes, yet it is often the limiting factor in improving endurance performance. This session covers the role that peak power plays in endurance sports, why it is the limiting factor in performance for many endurance athletes, how to assess peak power, and specific and non specific strength training to improve peak power. Learn how to break through that plateau and take your performance to new levels.

Have you ever wondered why you fade or cramp during the second half of a race? Ever wondered what or how much to eat during long events? Ever had stomach problems while racing? This session covers the role of various types of carbs/protein combinations on muscle breakdown, energy and performance. It is designed to answer all of your questions about what to eat and drink before, during and after your training sessions and races. We’ll discuss the critical role of nutrient timing in the adaptation and recovery process to help you get the most out of your training.
