October 3, 2007 – Paulo Bettini came home to a welcome party with over 500 well wishers and celebrations in the main square of La California – the town where Paolo was born. The Mayor of Bibbona organized the party in honour of Bettini who won his second consecutive Elite Men’s Road World Championship title in Stuttgart, Germany on Sept. 30.

On race day at Marina di Bibbona members of the Paolo Bettini Club, friends along with his Mom and Dad, Giuliana and Giuliano, organized a maxi-screen at the Hotel Marinetta so everyone could watch the 2007 Road World Championship race together. There was a fantastic atmosphere during the race, an atmosphere that got more and more excited as the race went on ending with cries of joy, applause and a big party after Paolo Bettini had crossed the Stuttgart finish line in first place.

After Paolo’s victory the Hotel Marinetta offered a splendid buffet meal for everyone present after which a never-ending procession of cars drove around the town blowing their horns signaling Paolo’s magnificent victory.
