Barrette 2nd in Sprint Qualifications on Day 3 @ Pan Am Track Champs – Genest, Beveridge Just Off Podium

September 01, 2018 (Aguascalientes, Mexico) – Team Canada’s Hugo Barrette from Iles-de-la-Madeleine, Quebec qualified 2nd in the Men’s Sprint on Day 3 of the Pan Am Track Championships at the Velodromo de Aguascalientes, which followed his stellar victory in the men’s Keirin on the previous day. Nicholas Paul (Trinidad & Tobago) set a new Pan American record, narrowly missing the world record, in the men’s Sprint Qualifier (flying 200-metre time trial).

Lauriane Genest and Allison Beveridge were just off the podium respectively with Genest finishing fourth in the women’s Sprint final, while veteran Beveridge was fourth in the women’s Omnium.

Fellow Canucks Evan Burtnick and Chris Ernst finished 6th and 7th respectivel in the men’s Individual Pursuit, while Thierry Kirouac-Marcassa was 11th in the Men’s Points Race.
