Pan Am Road Championships Flash – Tuft Wins TT Gold for Canada

May 9, 2008 (Montevideo, Uruguay) – Canada’s Svein Tuft is on a golden roll winning today’s 39km ITT with a fabulous time of 46:37 averaging 50.197 km/hr giving Canada its fourth gold medal at the Pan Am Road and Track Championships. Agentina placed second in 47.11 with Brazil taking third in 47.28. Canada’s Zach Bell was 5th overall with a time of 49.44 behind the top Espoir rider from Colombia. In the Espoir category Agentina won the silver in 50.13 with the host country Uruguay taking the bronze.

Apparently all teams were informed this morning just prior to the competition that only two riders from each country would be allowed to compete in the Time Trial. Full results, report and photos to follow.
