July 12, 2013 (Aguascalientes, Mexico) – Eric Johnstone claimed another gold medal for Canada on Day 5 as the Calgary native raced to victory in the Men’s Kilo. Fellow Canuck Jeremie Lacasse placed 11th. In the women’s  500m Kinley Gibson finished 7th and Kristen Sears was 12th.

According to Canadian Coach, Rob Good, Johnstone’s time could be a new Pan Am record but, “…nothing has been announced at the velodrome,” Good told Pedal.

We caught up with Johnstone for his reaction to his gold medal… “Over the moon, pretty much sums it up.”
