May 27, 2007 (Valencia, Venezuela) — Eight laps into the men’s road race, the peloton is all together with four out of five Canadians in the mix including Charles Dionne, Martin Gilbert, Ryan McKenzie and David Veilleux. Keven Lacombe punctured on lap 4 when the pace was very high and is out of the race. The men will do 23 laps, each 7.2 kms, for a total of 165.6 kms.

A group of about 15 riders with Gilbert and McKenzie is about 40 seconds ahead of the peloton. It’s at least 32 degrees and sunny.

Martin Gilbert is ahead with a Venezuelan and a Mexican. The peloton is at 1:25. Several riders are between the break and the peloton.
