April 19, 2005 – The CCA (Canadian Cycling Association) and its high performance summer sport partners participated in a one-day planning event in Regina on April 14th to discuss the creation of an “Own the Podium” program for summer sports. The CCA is fully supportive of this initiative and believes that if we are to succeed in providing our athletes and coaches with better financial and technical support, we need to develop and implement a comprehensive plan that sets clear goals and holds us accountable to meeting them.

As a leading summer sport, the CCA will provide the support needed to help this group succeed. Active participation in this new group is another step in the right direction for the Association.
