Opus Announces 2013 Masters Road Racing Team

release by Opus Bicycles

March 13, 2013 (Montreal, QC) – Opus Bicycles is pleased to announce the introduction of our Masters’ road racing team for 2013. Opus’ roots stem from a passion for road cycling evident in the company’s beginnings over a decade ago. What began with a simple selection of high-level road bikes, has since grown into an extensive cycling program with over 80 models to choose from in the road, mountain, urban and kids categories.

Opus has always supported road athletes with different teams and individuals throughout the years and for 2013 we decided to expand that presence with a Road Masters team that includes some of our key staff. With the talent we have in the office, it makes perfect sense to offer these athletes a proper platform to reach their goals.

The team will be comprised of seasoned veterans including eight-time World Masters Track Champion and Opus road brand manager Stéphane Le Beau; office industrial designer and two-time winner of the prestigious Mardis cyclistes de Lachine black jersey, Hugues Lapointe; Opus designer and PanAm 3K pursuit winner, Philippe Raymond and road racing and criterium veterans David Dulude and Marc- Wayne Addison.

Building on the solid success of all its athletes, the team aims to put Opus on the podium once again at the World Track Championships in Manchester for 2013, as well as being a dominant force during the Masters Canadian race calendar. Road racing and criteriums will also feature large for the team as they compete at events both in Canada and the USA throughout the 2013 season.

According to Opus sports marketing coordinator Martin Rancourt, “We are really excited to see Opus represented on the Masters road circuit for 2013. With over 25 models to choose from, our passion for road cycling is quite evident and we are proud to be supporting such a talented and determined team of athletes.”

The Opus Masters Road Racing team will be competing aboard our very best bikes including the Opus Crescendo, our di2 equipped, carbon race frame platform bike as well as the Opus One, track specific carbon frame

Watch for the 2013 Opus Masters road racing team competing at World Masters Championships, Canadian Masters Championships as well as multiple races across Canada and the North-east USA for the 2013 season.
