December 3, 2004 – The Ontario Cycling Association is thrilled to announce Hardwood Hills as host to the 2005 National Cyclo-Cross Championships.
Tentatively booked for Saturday November 5th, the National Championships will be organized by one of the province’s premier organizers – Scott Doel. Mr. Doel organized three cyclo-cross events this year including this past weekend’s wildly successful Provincial Championships at the prestigious Aurora Leisure Complex. Next year’s Nationals layout will be very similar to this year’s Hardwood Cross (another successful Scott Doel event). To entice more out-of-province participation, the Sunnidale Cyclo-Cross will be held on Sunday November 6th in nearby Barrie.
With Ontario cyclo-cross participation leading the country with an average of 71 riders per event, it is only logical to have next year’s championship here. Also, 2005 will mark the Nationals return to Ontario after a 6 year absence.
The OCA and Scott Doel would like to thank the Canadian Cycling Association for giving us the opportunity to once again host the National Cyclo-Cross Championships.
