October 6, 2003 (Toronto, ON) – The Ontario Cycling Association (OCA) handed out their annual awards this weekend during the Ontario Cycling year-end celebration at the Mockingbird bar in Toronto. The evening was co-hosted by the Gears Racing Team and Gears Bike shop.

CBC's Curt Harnett and Mark Connelly were on hand to MC the evening along with National Team riders Sue Palmer and Chrissy Redden as they handed out awards to the winners.

OCA 2003 Awards

– MTB Male Athlete of the Year: Jesse Jakomait
– MTB Female Athlete of the Year: Emily Batty
– MTB Organizer of the Year: BIKE NXS
– MTB Contributor of the Year: Steve Neal
– Road Male Athlete of the Year: Chris Isaac and Brandon Crichton
– Road Female Athlete of the Year: Anna Tratnyek
– Road Organizer of the Year: St. Catherine's Cycling Club
– Road Contributor of the Year: Jet Fuel Coffee

Two special awards were also handed out to Giuseppe Ferrara and Giancarlo
Serafaro in recognition of their vision, dedication, and perseverance in
bringing the Hamilton 2003 Road World Championships to Canada.
