1.2.058 Riders shall study the circuit in advance.

Unless ordered to do so by a police officer, they may not leave the
prescribed circuit and shall not be able to claim any error in this respect,
nor any other motive such as incorrect directions by any
person, badly placed or non-existent signposts,
etc. Conversely, should the rider take a shortcut
constituting an advantage, he shall be
immediately disqualified from the race,
notwithstanding any other disciplinary measures
that may be provided for.
