November 16, 2007 – Here is the latest news from the Ontario Cycling Association, including a preliminary 2008 Ontario Cup Road Calendar, details about the OCA Cycling Celebration 2007 and the 2007/2008 Ontario Team.
2008 Preliminary Ontario Cup Dates

The 2008 schedule is taking shape. It promises to be a full and exciting year of road racing in Ontario. There are a couple of date conflicts to be worked out but but here is the preliminary schedule.
Road
– #1 – April 13 Westover-Strabane Classic (Hamilton)
– #2 – April 20 Calabogie Road Classic
– #3 – May 24 Niagara Classic
– #4 – June 8,15, or 22 K-W Classic
– #5 – July 13 Provincial Criterium (Ottawa)
– #6 – July 20 or 27 Halton/Burlington (Midweek)
– #7 – Aug 17 or Aug 24 Provincial Road Race (Elliot Lake)
– #8 – Sept 7 ITT

OCA Cycling Celebration 2007 – November 24

There will be a silent Auction for Michael Barry’s 2007 T-Mobile Jersey. One of Ontario’s great cyclists – Michael Barry (T-Mobile) – has kindly donated his 2007 Team Jersey (autographed) and his 2 books (also autographed). We are going to have a silent auction at the Cycling Celebration. All the money raised will go to the 2008 Ontario Youth Cup series. This is a great chance to own a piece of cycling history from one of Canada’s elite performers.

– Noon – 1:30 pm: Club Presidents meeting
– 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm: Lunch
– 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm: Cycling Seminar: Hosting an Ontario Cup Youth Road Race by Jim Crosscombe and Matthew Knight
Meetings and Seminar will be hosted at the Sport Alliance Building at 1185 Eglinton Avenue East, in Toronto.
– 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm: Reception (cash bar available)
– 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm: Buffet Dinner
– 8.30 pm: OCA Awards and special presentations
OCA Cycling Celebration Awards night will be hosted at Whistlers Grille on Broadview Avenue in Toronto. Attire: Business casual
