June 1, 2004 – Peter Appleton, OCA/Chico racing Downhill Race Coordinator,
will be building the 4X track at Hardwood for the O-Cup and needs access to
a bobcat for a day. If there is someone that knows of access to one please
contact Peter. We are willing to pay!
And, of course, North Bay is back June
12-13. There will be camping on the field and accommodations are still
available at the Days Inn Downtown (good price: $79 online)
http://www.daysinn.com/DaysInn/control/home.
Other accommodations: http://www.city.north-bay.on.ca/lodgings/
Momentum Bikes and Boards, North Bay’s DH and freeride superstore, will be
sponsoring the event and will have lots of spare everything for sale in case
you taco your wheel in a rock garden. They can be found at 370 Foran St, 705
476 2453. Email them if you need anything specific at
momentumbikesandboards@hotmail.com.
We will be running the same Saturday
course as the last couple years and we are working on a new Sunday course,
but it may or may not be ready in time. Doug Beattie is taking the weekend
off to race supermoto ($2,500 1st prize there, so I don’t blame him). That
means us Pro/Elites will have a shot at the elusive 1st place podium. Hope
to see all you guys and girls out there again. After setting a record with
over 200 competitors at Kelso and the most women ever, I hope to see lots of
you at North Bay and don’t forget your swim trunks to head down to lake.
