December 10, 2004 – There was never any doubt about the overall OCA Club Challenge champion for 2004 as Bay Cycle / 3 Rox Racing continued to put the pressure on the other top clubs all year long, right through to the Provincial Cyclo-cross Championships, picking up an impressive grand total of 2614 O-Cup and Series points over the course of the 42 Series events. This strong group of young riders with enormous depth made their mark by consistently placing riders well within the points across a variety of racing sectors including Road, Mountain Bike and Cyclo-cross.

For Team Hardwood, it was a well-deserved second place showing after comfortably holding that position for virtually the entire season. A core group of young riders was also the key to much of their success in 2004.

An exciting race for third overall came down to the wire with GearsRacing.com narrowly holding on to edge out both the Ottawa Bicycle Club and Sport Swap Racing. The Eastern Cyclo-cross Series had a huge impact on overall placing as the end of the Cyclo-cross Series approached. Along with the Ottawa Bicycle Club, the team from The Cyclery also managed to make it into the top-10 with their significant rider turnouts and performances throughout the cyclo-cross season.

St Catharines CC, Team McBride / FitFix, Midweek CC and the Waterloo CC Flying Dogs rounded out the top-10 clubs.

The Awards Ceremony (including the unveiling of the OCA Club Challenge Trophy) will take place at the OCA AGM meeting at the Toronto International Bicycle Show in March.
