OCA Club Challenge Award

April 12, 2004 – In the interest of creating more friendly camaraderie between clubs, the OCA is implementing a brand new annual award for 2004 which will be known as the OCA Club Challenge. This award will be a way of recognizing some of the top performing racing clubs in Ontario as determined by the total Ontario Cup Series points earned by its members across a combination of racing sectors including Road, Track, MTB-XC, MTB-DH and the Cyclo-cross series.

All Ontario-based competitive clubs and teams are automatically entered. After each Series race, the sum of all the points earned by a club's members will be added to its running total for the season. Current standings will be updated on the OCA web site throughout the year. To count, a rider earning O-Cup points at a race must be a member of that club on race day as indicated on their licence or citizen permit.

In addition to recognizing the top five clubs on a permanent trophy, there will also be Gold, Silver and Bronze certificates awarded to clubs who meet certain milestones of total points. For more information on the Club Challenge or on the Ontario Cup Series and how a rider earns points, please visit the OCA web site: www.ontariocycling.org. Best of luck to all teams and clubs and see you at the races!
