Norco Announced As An Official Partner of Cypress Mountain

July 29, 2005 “” Norco Performance Bikes is pleased to announce its newly formed partnership with Cypress Mountain for the Summer 2005 season. In addition to supplying the mountain with a rental fleet of bikes (the fleet includes bikes such as the A-Line, Six, Fluid 2, Sasquatch, & Jammer), Norco is also helping to provide all the emergency staff and mountain hosts with Norco bikes.

“As you can imagine, this is a really exciting opportunity for us,” commented Peter Stace-Smith, Norco’s PR/Marketing Manager, “Cypress is the first mountain the in the Vancouver area and on the Shore to open its lifts to mountain biking. Norco has played a part in the development of the Shore & freeriding since the beginning, so it’s only natural that we’d want to be a part of this next phase in mountain biking history.”

After 13 years of planning and approvals Cypress Mountain has opened the Eagle Express High Speed Quad Chair, equipped with the state of the art bike rack system is bringing riders to the top of Black Mountain. Despite some frustrating weeks of wet weather in the spring the mountain’s diligent trail crew has managed to open up 4 trails for the first season. They currently have 4 kms of trails open, 4 more kms are under construction, but hope to have a total of 10 kms open by early August.

To encourage riders to check out the new park, Cypress is offering 8 hours of riding for $24 (or $19.20 with a Bike Card) or unlimited riding from now until labour day for $79. For further information about the bike park and season’s passes please visit www.cypressmountain.com
