May 18, 2004 – Officials reversed an earlier  decision that originally awarded Frank Mapel (Durango, Colo.) first place in  this weekend's men's short track race at the NORBA National Mountain Bike Series  event in Sonoma, Calif.  The change, which came after the awards  presentation, means that original runner-up, Carl Decker (Bend, Ore.) has been  declared the winner with Mapel taking second.  The reversal came  following the discovery of a problem with the finish line camera that was used  to determine the original photo finish between the two riders, race officials said. Decker's victory, his first in a NORBA National, resulted  from a sprint finish amongst eight other  competitors.
