February 26, 2007 – Rumours are flying about the imminent announcement of Japanese automobile manufacturer Nissan as title sponsor for the 2007 UCI World Cup MTB Series, and according to several web sites including Transcend Magazine, Italian Solobike.it and Anneke Beerten’s personal site. According to these sources, a television deal consisting of 26-minute race features is also in the works. The first UCI World Cup event is the series’ first Marathon race in Gran Canaria, Spain on March 17.
