April 3, 2003 (Dieppe, New Brunswick) – Bicycle Nova Scotia, Velo New Brunswick and Cycling Prince Edward Island, in partnership with the National Cycling Centre – Atlantic Canada, are pleased to announce the formation of the Cycle Lambert Atlantic Cycling Series. The nomination of Cycles Lambert as a sponsor is at it's first year of action. The addition of Cycles Lambert will certainly make our series more attractive and will help it gain some respect at its first ever season.

In what is truly a first for Canadian Cycling, three provinces have agreed to raise the caliber of regional cycling competition by collaborating on a three race road series, a three race mountain bike series, including at least one downhill race, and two track events. Each of the provinces will host a single race in both the road and mountain bike series, in addition to their own provincial race series'. All three races in each series count toward the series' final outcome.

For the National Cycling Centre – Atlantic Canada, this initiative is very positive: ” With the increasing level of cyclists in our region, it was important for us to raise the competition caliber accordingly. This series secures them eight weekends of high level racing in their region. Combined with the National Championships (in the 3 disciplines) and other major events, this will make the 2003 Racing Calendar far more complete, and will also help with development.” says Head Coach Luc Arseneau.

The Cycles Lambert Atlantic Cycling Series is a great initiative from the provincial cycling associations, and is well seen by the Canadian Cycling Association.

May 3 – 4, 2003: Event # 1, Sussex, New Brunswick
June 21 – 22, 2003: Event # 2, Charlottetown (and Emyvale), PEI
August 3, 2003: Event # 3, Musquoduboit, Nova Scotia

Cycles Lambert Atlantic Mountain Bike Series:

May 24 – 25, 2003: Event # 1, Fredericton, New Brunswick
July 12 -13, 2003: Event # 2, Wentworth, Nova Scotia
August 23 – 24, 2003: Event # 3, Brookvale, PEI

Cycles Lambert Atlantic track events:

June 7-8, 2003: Event # 1, Caisse populaire Dieppe Velodrome
September 13-14, 2003 Event # 2, Caisse populaire Dieppe Velodrome
