New National Adventure Racing Championships In Canada

November 15, 2005 – Adventure Racers ready themselves for national championship The Canadian Adventure Racing Association (CARA) and its partners are pleased to announce the opening of registration for the 2006 National Adventure Racing Championships. This first national adventure racing championship will be held from May 28 — June 3, 2006, in and around Timmins, Ontario. Teams from Canada, the U.S. and around the world will take part in a grueling 400 km, five-day expedition race. Competitors will rely on their keen navigation skills as they mountain bike, trek and paddle their way along an exciting course designed by renowned course architect Bob Miller. There will be a shorter Sprint Championship race. “This is going to be one of the most exciting races Canada has ever seen,” says Jonathan Geisler, the race director. “Participants are guaranteed a challenging and exciting course, and Timmins will provide an unforgettable experience!” The top teams will split cash prizes valued at up to $70,000, with the top-placing Canadian team earning the title of National Champions.
