July 25, 2019 – Cycling’s eRevolution has been joined by major motorcycle brands like Harley-Davidson, BMW and Yamaha, but gaining momentum is Fuell by renowned former Harley engineer, Erik Buell, founder of Buell Motorcycles, with his innovative new Fluid e-bike, which boasts a unique and massive 200km range thanks to two removable batteries.
The Indiegogo-funded project has already raised $1.5 million and is set to ship in October. This hybrid e-bike is ideal for commuters, with a 500W motor that can bring you to speeds of 45kph (with the 1S model). The 3.2-inch IPS display makes reading data easy along with choosing from the five programmable settings.The Fluid continues to show its practicality with an 80% charge in just 2.5 hours and a full charge in 5 hours thanks to its 4-amp fast charger. This commuter bike keeps maintenance to a minimum with an internal Shimano Alfine hub and carbon belt drive.
Offered in two models, Fluid-1 and Fluid-1S, the only difference is the top speed of 32kph for the Fluid-1 and 45kph Fluid-1S. Prices start at $4,269 (Cdn) for the 200km range bike, but a single battery bike can be purchased for $3,612 and a $300 battery can be purchased as an upgrade.Buell started his motorcycle company in 1993 and merged with Harley Davidson in 2009. After quitting Harley Davidson to race motorcycles Buell found himself pursuing Fuell, an e-bike and e-motorcycle company, in 2019.
