June 24, 2010 (Ottawa, ON) – The Canadian Cycling Association is seeking expression of interest from T-PSOs and organizers to host a UCI Para-cycling road event in Canada in 2011. This P1 UCI-sanctioned event would ideally follow the World Cup being held in Baie-Comeau, QC on July 9-10, 2011, allowing a maximum of athletes to compete and earn precious UCI points towards the London 2012 qualification process.

The ideal submission would feature:
– Availability to host a Para-cycling road event preferably from July 15-17, 2011;
– Offer a fairly flat race course (maximum of 8% grade);
– Offer adapted facilities and accommodations;
– Knowledge of Para-cycling.

Organizers shall submit a letter of interest to Director of Development, Mathieu Boucher (mathieu.boucher@canadian-cycling.com) prior to June 30th.
