December 23, 2003 – The Navigators Insurance Cycling Team will begin the 2004 road racing season with the UCI's first major tour of the new year. The team will be traveling to Adelaide Australia to contest the 6-day Jacobs Creek Tour Down Under from January 20-25th. The JCTDU is widely regarded as one of the best organized events in the world, and boasts a very select field of international teams. With only 12 teams on the start list, the JCTDU is a most prestigious invitation, and a desirable destination for Europe's' top ranked teams.
The eight member team of Siro Camponogara, Vassili Davidenko, Jeff Louder, David McKenzie, Kirk Obee, Ciaran Power, Burke Swindlehurst, and Phil Zajicek will gather their Aussie mate Henk Vogels for a brief training camp prior to the race.
The official team camp and presentation will follow the JCTDU with a complete team gathering in the Tuscany region of Italy beginning the first week in February. Following the Italian camp, the team begins its European spring campaign with several races planned in Italy, France, Switzerland,
Belgium, and Holland.
