June 13, 2003 (Minneapolis, MN) – The Nature Valley Grand Prix continued today with a 6-mile time trial on the Mesabi bike Trail from Gilbert to Virginia, MN. The morning stage got off to an early 8:15 start for the women, with race leader's going last in the line up. Although a short time trial, it was enough of a distance to reshuffle GC, and Saturn came out on top with a stage win and the Leader's Jersey.

Fast times for the women came in with Lyne Bessette, setting a time to beat of 12:16. She had to wait until nearly the last women to find out if she would hold on to the win. In the end it was Bessette's Saturn teammate Manon Jutras taking top honors by ten seconds over Bessette with a time of 12:06. Saturn's Katie Mactier rounded out the top three with a time of 12:20. Mactier's ride moved her into the overall lead by eleven seconds over Jutras. Yesterday's stage winner, Tina Mayolo – Pic (Diet Rite) slipped back to third in the overall. However, there are bountiful time bonuses on the line in the remaining stages, and the race is far from decided.

The men's time trial was held on the same course as that of the women. Tom Danielson made it a sweep for the Saturn Team, posting a super fast time of 9:08. Second was another Saturn youngster, Viktor Rapinski, finishing with a time of 9:18. However, it was yesterday's second place finisher, Adam Bergman continuing to gain respect with a third place finish, just fractions of a second ahead of Mark McCormack in fourth.

Saturn looks to be in the driver's seat headed into the evening criteriums for both the men's and women's events. However with only seconds separating the top spots, those precious time bonuses will be hotly contested.
