February 11, 2013 (Nanaimo, BC) – Two members of British Columbia’s Mid Island Velo Association were honoured at the 2012 Nanaimo Athletic Achievement Awards this Saturday. National master women cyclo-cross champion, Janna Gillick was recognised as the city’s outstanding master athlete and club president Peter McCaffery received the award for outstanding sports’ administrator. A third cyclist who won the best male athlete plaque was international downhill champion, Steve Smith.
