September 9, 2003 – Raced in picturesque Ganonoque Ontario the 4th annual Multi-Laser G.P was held under ideal conditions. This was the last big “Ontario” road event on the calendar, and everyone showed up, including the powerful Trek-VW team out of Quebec, Tim Johnson (Saturn) and Hayden Godfrey of 7-Up.

The first road stage of 125 kms saw an early break of eight, grow to twelve mid-way and eventually succeed in staying away. This move included Godfrey, Joe Giuliano and Paul Rego (both Atlas Cold – ItalPasta), Andrew Randell and Stig Somme (both Jet-Fuel), Morse and Fry (both Mid-Week), Nat Faulkner, Tim Johnson and some VW standouts like Martin Gilbert. Soloing in for his first win of the year was 2002 Canadian road champ Andrew Randell of JetFuel ahead of Godfrey and a fractured group.

The second stage held that night in front of the Multi-Laser headquarters was the dreaded 200m street sprints. As this race is based on points, many riders showed up to do battle. In the end it was Kiwi Hayden Godfrey (7-Up)taking the win and the points, putting him in the leaders jersey.

Sunday morning had the riders up and ready for an 8K ITT. It would be Montreal-Quebec champion Tim Johnson's turn to win a stage over local TT hero Darko Ficko and a motivated Andrew Randell in third. The final criterium had Godfrey leading Johnson and Randell by a mere point, and with bonus points in the middle of the race, the speed was sure to be high. Randell showed some speed and cornering skills as he figured in the first points sprints around the figure eight course. A nine-man break checked out midway into the race with the JetFuel team content to gobble up points. Atlas Cold – Ital Pasta and Nat Faulkner would eventually bring it back together, securing a bunch sprint for the peleton. With five laps to go, JetFuel put it's team at the front and with the help of the Gears racing team, enabling Randall to leap away with a half lap to go and motor in for the stage win and thus the overall win, with a hefty $2,000 payout.

In the women's event Merril Collins dominated as did Craig Burge in the Master A's. Of note Craig Burge's TT time was good enough for 5th overall in the Sen 1-2's, and he won the door prize, some Mavic wheels!!
