September 3, 2003 (Lugano, SUI) – Junior women raced 23 kms today at the 2003 MTB World Championships in Lugano, Switzerland. At the front of the pack was last year's winner, Australia's Lisa Mathison. She finished the course with a time of one hour and twenty seven minutes, just under four minutes ahead of silver medalist, Eva Lechner, from Italy. German rider Almut Grieb took bronze.
Canada's top rider was Kylie Case, she had a solid ride, finishing in 16th place. Canadians Catherine Vipond, Olivia Gagne and Brook Baker finished one lap down in 19th, 23rd and 24th place.
