September 6, 2003, (Lugano, SUI) – When Chausson lines up to the gates she is a very focused rider. Her concentration and skill led up to the capture of her eighth World DH Championship title today in the women's downhill event. With over twelve seconds separating her from second placed rider Sabrina Jonnier (FRA) Chausson has remained the undisputed champion of women's downhill racing. Another French native, Nolvenn le Caer,  was third for the bronze. The time of newly crowned junior champ, Emmeline Ragot, also from France, would have put her in tenth place with the senior women.

Canadian Danika Schroeter had the best Canadian time, putting her in 14th place, a personal best for the BC rider. Michelle Dumaresq was 17th, Deb MacKillop was 18th, Claire Buchar was 23rd and Caroline Milot was 29th.
