June 5, 2010 (Oregon) – We just received word that Canada’s Marcel Aarden (Total Restoration) has unofficially finished second at the 148.1km Stage 4 Wy’East Road Race won by Jonathan Patrick McCarty (USA) Matrix/Richardson Bike Mart with Nathaniel English (USA) Echelon Gran Fondo/Z-Team in 3rd.

“Epic, brutal, amazing. Just a few adjectives used by the race organizers to describe Wy’East Road Race, Stage 4 of the Mt Hood Classic. With a distance of 148km, Category 1 and 2 climbs, and a 2-mile finishing stretch that averages 10% grade (with a few 12% sections thrown in) it was great to see another Canadian standing on the podium. Marcel Aarden, who rides for the Kelowna-based Total Restoration Cycling team, gutted himself on the final climb to place 2nd on today’s stage.
