January 21, 2007 – Last November, Sacred Rides Mountain Bike Holidays president Mike Brcic and 5 others biked the famed Inca Trail from Andahuaylas, Peru to Machu Picchu. Their epic journey is captured in a multimedia show that’s coming to North Vancouver, B.C. on January 23.
Sacred Rides Mountain Bike Holidays (formerly Fernie Fat-Tire Adventures) is bringing their traveling Peruvian roadshow to North Vancouver. After company president Mike Brcic and 5 others rode the Inca trail from Lima to Machu Picchu last November, Mike – also an amateur photographer – put together a nifty little multimedia show to showcase their trip to the folks back home.
And an epic trip it was: 6,000-vertical foot descents, badass singletrack, tarantulas the size of a man’s head, and lots of Inca culture and remote villages, plus the Lost City – Machu Picchu.
The show features photos, videos (including some great helmetcam of a trail that starts at 14,500 feet) and music from Peru.
The best part? Proceeds from the event go to two worthy causes: the North Shore Mountain Bike Association and Bicycles Without Borders (Sacred Rides’ own non-profit organization that hands out free bikes to families in developing countries).
The North Vancouver event is at the Queen’s Cross pub on Lonsdale. Tickets are $12.50 in advance at the On Top Bike Shop or $15 at the door. Ticket includes appetizers at the pub. Show starts at 7:00 p.m.
The slideshow tour has already visited, Calgary, Fernie, Nelson, and is heading to Squamish, California and Toronto. For more information, click here or call 1-888-423-7849.
