December 12, 2006 – Zach Bell and Gina Grain will form the contingent representing Canada at the upcoming World Cup track meet in Moscow this coming weekend. Bell finished a career best 8th place in the recent Sydney World Cup event and will be looking for top-ten finishes in the individual pursuit and points race.
Last year’s Track Worlds Scratch silver medallist, Grain will be looking to build on a slow start to her World Cup campaign and score valuable points towards qualifying for this year’s Track World Championships.
The action begins at the 333.33m Krylatskoye Velodrome on Friday, Dec. 15 with the Canadians racing the men’s pursuit and women’s points race. The men’s points race is on Saturday and racing continues on Sunday with no Canadians performing. National team coach Houshang Amiri is accompanying the two riders on this project.
