May 11, 2007 (Montreal, QC) – Daniel Manibal, the organizer behind the 2007 Montreal-Boston Tour is disappointed that the event has been postponed until 2008. We reached Manibal today who commented, “”¦of course I’m disappointed about this. And I’ve lived some very tense moments in the past few weeks. But right now I only want to concentrate on our three upcoming UCI women’s events – the Montreal Women’s Road Cycling World Cup on Saturday, June 2, the Tour du Grand Montreal June 4-7, and the Tour de PEI from June 10-14.”
As previously reported on May 9, the Montreal-Boston Tour, initially scheduled for August 5-12, was officially postponed until 2008 because of the complexities of organizing such a prestigious, multi-stage cycling event through one Canadian province and three U.S. states (click here for the press release). The Journal de Montreal also reported that the event was short one million dollars of its $7.5 million budget.
