Moab Rocks Day 1 – Canada’s Pendrel and Kabush Win

March 27, 2017 (Moab, Utah) – Canada’s Catharine Pendrel (Clif Pro) and Geoff Kabush (Scott Sports-Maxxis) won the Day 1 Open Women’s and Men’s races respectively at Moab Rocks past Saturday. Pendrel will not be contesting the overall 3-day event and was followed by Americans Marlee Dixon and Jena Greaser who took second and third.

Canadian National Cyclo-cross champion Mahalie Rochette (Cliiff Bar) was fourth overall and sits 3rd in the Open Women’s 3-day General Classification with fellow Canadian Rachel Pageau in 5th overall.

In the men’s race Kabush was followed closely by Americans Ben Sobntag and Justine Lindine, at 0:02 and 0:04 seconds behind, respectively.

Set in one of the most iconic mountain bike destinations in the world, Moab Rocks is a 3-day mountain bike cross-country race, which is part of the TransRockies Race Series. The event uses some of the best trails in the region, including Klondike, Porcupine Rim and Mag 7, challenging racers over a 3-day fully supported race. The TransRockies series began in 2002 and has led the way in mountain bike stage racing in North America. Moab Rocks is taking place from March 25-27th this year and includes both 3-day and 1 day race opportunities.
