March 18, 2012 – Here’s a selection of photos from yesterday’s 103rd running of 298km Milano-Sanremo, also known as La Primavera, the world’s longest one-day Classic. The first monument of the season was won by Simon Gerrans (Aus) GreenEDGE over Fabian Cancellara (Sui) RadioShack-Nissan-Trek in second with Italy’s Vincenzo Nibali (Liquigas-Cannondale) in third. The three took the lead on the ascent of the Poggio and held off the chasing field with Gerrans out-sprinting Cancellara at the finish.
