Mike\’s Bike Shop Cup – Week 18

October 24, 2007 – Marc-André Deslauriers took last night’s stage 18 of the Mike’s Bike Shop Cup in windy and wet conditions; well, cross weather! He was followed closely by Sacha LeBlanc and Mélanie Bordage after the handicap calculations.

Alain Goguen will wear the leader’s jersey during the last stage, but Don Ricker is still mathematically alive being only 80 points behind. The race for third place overall will also be interesting during the last week of action as Mike LeBlanc and Stuart Wight are only 5 points apart. At the conclusion of the 2007 Series, the overall winner will have the honor to pick the charitable organization to which the Mike’s Bike Shop Series will be making its donation to. Money from every registration throughout the season will go towards that donation.

Next week’s event will also mark Halloween with the Boo-Cross event. A special scary course will built for children to collect treats, or tricks, at every obstacle (see photo of last year from Don Ricker Photography). This event will start at 5:30 and is open to everyone. The last race of the season will then start at 6 pm as usual; but every racer must be dressed for the occasion, or he/she will need to double the donation to charity.

A social will follow the event and award ceremony; without forgetting our annual skid contest for entertainments while the officials are tabulating the results!
