November 1, 2007 – It was a long season, but after 19 Tuesday evenings of racing, Alain Goguen claimed the Mike’s Bike Shop Cup title for 2008. This series saw the best overall riders take top spots as it brought the riders on different riding surfaces from cross country, track, road (crits and time trial), bmx, and finally, cyclocross.

Goguen took the series with 1130 points over Don Ricker who collected 1080. Young Stuart Wight (965 points) finally surpassed Mike LeBlanc (930 points) for the last spot on the podium. A special donation will be presented to a local charity on behalf of our overall winner. The official announcement will be made shortly regarding the selected charity.

Many other awards were presented, including the coaches choice to three up and coming riders, Stuart Wight, Jean-Richard Cormier (both wore the leader’s jersey at one point) and Marc-André Deslauriers (who won two stages).

The last stage was won by Julie Bélanger, followed by Sacha LeBlanc and Ian Dennis. The stage was marked with the 2nd annual Boo-Cross race for the kids. Once again, a fun little scary course was build around St-Anselme Park.
