June 22, 2006 – Tuesday night was the first criterium of the Mike’s bike shop cup . Chris Selkirk was the stage winner followed closely by Sacha LeBlanc and Laura Hominick. Even though Krista Koval was not present she had enough points to keep the overall lead in the series. Charles Cormier and Jeff Currie moved up into the second and third positions respectively.

The next criterium will be held on June 27th.The race will start at 6:30 pm. The start/finish line will be on Harnett street. Parking will be in the cul-de sac and the end of Ruffin street. A criterium is a exciting, high speed road race taking place on a course approximately 1 km long where riders try to complete as many laps as possible within a pre-definite amount of time.

The Mike’s bike shop cup is a series of weekly races held on Tuesdays nights. The series also includes track, BMX and cyclocross events to be held later in the summer. The overall winner of the series will pick a charitable organization to which a donation from the registration proceeds will be made.
